Home of Saudi Aramco and the industrial cities of Jubail and Ras al Khair, the Eastern Province is the most important industrial region of Saudi Arabia contributing 60% of GDP to the national economy. It is the largest province of the country occupying an area of nearly eight hundred thousand square kilometers, which is 36 percent of the country’s land mass and has common borders with Kuwait in the north, Qatar and Bahrain in the east, UAE and Oman at its south. It has a population of over 4.1 million, which represents 15 percent of the Kingdom's total population.
The province contains the majority of the Kingdom's oil and gas reserves and, therefore, is home to several industries that consists of petrochemicals, chemicals, steel, cement, aluminum, plastics and service providing companies. Two of the world's largest industrial cities, Dammam and Jubail, are located there. With the robust growth of industries, the Eastern Province is now called "The Industrial Capital of the Gulf".
The Eastern Province includes several modern cities with distinctive features such as the capital city of Dammam, Khobar, Dhahran, Jubail, Al-Ahsa, Ras Tanura, Khafji, Hafr Al-Batin, and Qatif. Each city is equipped with modern facilities and infrastructure that meets the essential needs of its citizens and residents.
Most importantly, the province is home to many world-class hospitals and medical clinics providing international standard health products and services. The government has invested tremendously in enhancing the medical facilities, knowledge and capabilities in order to ensure that all the people receive the best care possible. In addition, several educational institutions including private and public childrens' schools, universities and colleges are available and all offer top-quality academic activities that are designed to enhance the student's knowledge and provide them with the opportunity to apply their academic skills in the real world.
With its strategic location in the Middle East, the presence of several energy intensive industries, and attractive incentives from the strong and visionary Saudi government, the Eastern Province provides a business-friendly and conducive environment for the investors to conduct their businesses.
