Lorraine Adkins is the Head of Resiliency at NYUAD, working as a Director in the Campus Safety team with a focus on Emergency Preparedness and Crisis Management. Lorraine is a retired British Army Officer who served for 26 years in British Military Intelligence. During a successful military career, Lorraine saw active service in Northern Ireland, Bosnia and Afghanistan and completed two operational tours in Iraq.

Lorraine was awarded the Member of the British Empire (MBE) medal in 1993 for her contribution to Operation Desert Storm in Iraq, while working as a security and intelligence analyst at the UK Ministry of Defence in Whitehall, London. Lorraine has a Masters level award in Intelligence Management, holds a Certificate of the Business Continuity Institute (CBCI) and continues to use her crisis management knowledge and experience to develop campus incident response plans and emergency and business continuity protocols.

Prior to her current role, Lorraine has worked as a security and intelligence consultant in the UAE, Qatar and the UK.
